Discovery Bay Permits and Placement
Discovery Bay isn’t an incorporated city. The Town of Discovery Bay CSD runs local services like parks and recreation, but street and building permits come from Contra Costa County. On private property, like a driveway or the front of a lot, you usually won’t need a permit. If a unit has to sit in a county street or right-of-way, apply for an encroachment permit through Contra Costa County Public Works. The county requires one for construction and events that use the public right-of-way. Applications go through the county’s ePermits Center, and full road closures need a separate permit.
