Crockett Permits and Placement
Crockett is an unincorporated town, and the Crockett CSD doesn’t issue road permits, so street permits come from Contra Costa County. On private property, like a driveway or the front of your lot, you usually won’t need one. If the unit has to go on a county street or sidewalk, which is common on the narrow hillside blocks, you’ll need an encroachment permit from Contra Costa County Public Works. The county requires one for construction and events that use the public right-of-way, and closing a street for something like a festival requires a separate road closure permit, applied for weeks in advance.
